We are the UMass Amherst chapter of the National Honor Society Alpha Lambda Delta (ALD). There are over 250 chapters of ALD nationally, and over 850,000 students have been inducted since its inception in 1924.

Currently, the University of Massachusetts ALD chapter has over 200 members in the class of 2012, almost 300 members in the class of 2013, over 350 members in the class of 2014, and over 250 members in the class of 2015.  This makes us one of the largest chapters in the nation with over 1,100 members currently on campus!

Alpha Lambda Delta serves to recognize academic achievement among students in their first semester of college. Each spring, we induct freshmen who achieved 3.75 GPA or above during the fall semester. Our members come from all departments and are some of the top students on campus.
