Ryan's Question: So, you're starting a blog?
Amberly's Answer: Yeah, I am! My boss Shonda told me that as a communications assistant, I could start one. I mainly just needed a theme to center my blog posts around. Now that was the part that got to me. A theme.
What got to me was the fact that I wasn't really sure what I wanted that theme to be, if I'll be honest, or if could even think of one. After all, it's the beginning of my second semester and I'm still trying to figure out how this campus works, nevertheless think of a blog theme. And yet, eventually, I managed to think up of one. And that theme is... well, you, little brother.
Why are you my blog theme? Well, I mean, growing up, I was the oldest kid. So when it was time for me to go to school, I would always do so headfirst, completely blind and unaware of what was to come, or what even to expect. I would go through it all, learn the do's and don't's, and the ins and outs of the public education system, and then report all my findings to you.
So I figured that by making you my blog theme, I could do that again. Of course, it'll be different. We're talking through technology rather than face-to-face conversation, and I know you hate that. But I think it'll be fun. And I think, in a way, this blog could help me too. Because now in college, there are so many findings I've discovered, so much stuff all at once – and thanks to you, maybe I'll get a chance to sit down and actually process them.
But anyways, I digress.
To anyone else who is reading this and feels utterly confused, the answer to this question is yes, I am starting a blog, and yes, the theme is to answer various questions proposed by my brother, Ryan, who's a junior in high school. He has no clue as to what to expect – I mean sure, parents talk about college all the time, but it has (presumably) changed a lot since then. I'm here to guide him, and in some ways, guide myself.
Should be fun, but I guess we'll find out whether or not that's true throughout the next semester or so!
