How was your weekend? I hope you had a good one. As it gets colder and I experience regret for not bringing my winter boots back from home a couple weeks ago, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on my semester so far. Midterms may be over, but as many of us know, when Thanksgiving break is over, final exams pop up quickly. I am hoping that I will be able to prepare for exams and write my papers over the week-long break we'll have. Aside from going home for the week, I won't be doing any additional travel next week, and probably not any long-distance travel for the next few weeks, so I do have a bit of a pause from that.
Even with the increased budget I had for my trip a week ago, I spent much more than I thought I would. Not only that but, as with last semester, I needed to pay some extra bills I didn't see coming — which means I have much less saved than I hoped I would for this point in the year. The good news is that I already bought my tickets for next spring. At least I don't have to worry about that. But this is a big setback for my account. I'm not thrilled about it.
I was travelling this past weekend, too. I went to Pittsburgh on Saturday to celebrate a birthday, which was very fun. But I do need to completely re-do my planned budget. I'm hoping that with some careful budgeting, I'll be able to balance out my account over the next few weeks.
I'm excited for next week! It'll be nice to spend time with my family and to see relatives. I'm also definitely ready for some pie at Thanksgiving and to watch the parade, as I do every year. I hope you all have a wonderful week and Thanksgiving break!
