During a recent Black History Month Celebration event, Professor Manisha Sinha (Draper Professor of Early American History at the University of Connecticut), discussed her research on the abolition movement of the 19th-century, slavery, and more. Professor Sinha shared information, stories, and explanations about several different topics.

Among the topics included were the George Latimer Case, origins, efforts, and results of grassroots activism during this time period, rebellions that occured both within and outside of the U.S., politics, and the efforts of many to help end slavery.

After answering questions from the audience, Professor Sinha signed copies of her bookThe Slave's Cause: A History of Abolition.
