Come make an investment in your future by getting the look to help you get the job! Commonwealth Honors College, in connection with Career Services, Residential Life Student Services, UMass Athletics and the Center for Multicultural Advancement and Student Success, is sponsoring the Career Fashion Show from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2016. Student volunteers will model appropriate business and business casual attire provided by major clothing retailers for various occasions such as career fairs, interviews, networking events, and the workplace.
This event will address how to dress “professionally,” how to obtain interview-appropriate attire on a college student’s budget, how to make good choices regarding professional attire, and understanding the importance of an impactful first impression as part of the career search process. Students are encouraged to wear an interview outfit (or bring a selfie) for a professional critique. In addition to seeing models in professional attire, the event will give fashion advice for all, including how to tie a necktie or wear accessories. Students will have the opportunity to win discount gift cards towards the purchase of a new professional image.
Following the fashion show, there will be a tag sale from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Clothing and accessories have been provided by Men’s Wearhouse, T.J. Maxx, JC Penney, and Hannoush Jewelers. For more information about the event, visit the CHC events page or contact Melissa Woglom for additional information.
