Three Commonwealth Honors College students are among the spring 2018 Rising Researcher awardees at UMass Amherst. The Rising Researcher awards recognize students for their exceptional achievements at the undergraduate level. Honors students William "Bill" Eagan, Charlotte LaPlante, and Colleen Sands were recognized for their outstanding research in diverse fields. Eagan, a senior microbiology major, has studied tuberculosis throughout his undergraduate career. LaPlante, a dual English and biology major, investigated exposure to estrogenic chemicals. Sands, a senior kinesiology major, researched the role of wearable technology in public health outcomes. Please read more about the students' achievements and the Rising Researcher program.
