This seminar-based course will introduce basic concepts in environmental toxicology and chemistry. An emphasis will be placed on understanding and applying the principles of toxicology and their associated processes to environmental problems. This course will also evaluate toxicological models, variability and uncertainty especially with regard to identifying the sources, fate and transport patterns of contaminants in the environment. Students will also acquire knowledge of environmental toxicology as it relates to climate change, environmental policy and public health.
