On April 29th and 30th, Commonwealth Honors College participated in UMassGives, a campus-wide 48-hour online fundraising campaign. Thanks to the generosity of the Honors College community, $25,735 was raised over the course of two days in support of the CHC Community Scholarships program. Commonwealth Honors College Community Scholarships are four-year awards for incoming first-year Honors college students with financial need and who are the first in their families to attend college. The scholarships are awarded with a preference for students from underrepresented groups on the UMass Amherst campus.
This year’s UMassGives campaign brought in donations from 86 donors—48 percent more donors and 320 percent more dollars than the previous year. The Honors college is grateful to the generous alumni donors who put forward challenge gifts this year in order to encourage new donors to contribute.
Thank you, alumni, faculty, friends, parents, staff, and students!
The increased support from you, the Honors college community, will allow Commonwealth Honors College to support more students who struggle to afford college.
