Nicholas Ozorowski is a senior member of the Commonwealth Honors College at UMass studying Political Science (with certification in African Studies) as well as a BDIC in Postcolonial Studies. His research - including an in-progress thesis on the life and writing of James Baldwin - is primarily concerned with the politics, history, and iconography of the 20th century Afro-American literary tradition. Originally from Philadelphia, Nick now enjoys running and hiking through the beautiful scenery of Western Massachusetts. Around campus, Nick can be found on the track as Vice President of UMass Club Running or in New Africa House working hard on his next assignment. After graduation, Nick intends to pursue a post-graduate degree and to eventually become a professor of either literature of political science.
