Commonwealth Honors College at the University of Massachusetts Amherst is a community of scholars that offers the advantages of a small college plus access to the opportunities and resources of a nationally recognized research university.

We offer small honors classes, close interaction with faculty, and supportive advising; we also provide opportunities for leadership development, and options for conducting research with notable faculty.

Honors students can find a major in any of the university's 90 academic departments and programs or even design their own. Whatever the course of study, Commonwealth Honors College students distinguish themselves as scholars in the classroom and leaders on campus and beyond.

Students who join Commonwealth Honors College not only engage in a rigorous academic curriculum but also participate in the College's deep commitment to promoting community, diversity, and social justice.

And students get to live in Amherst—the country's best college town!
